Thomas W. Hughes, MBA

CEO & President

Mr. Hughes founded Electronic Claims & Funding, Inc. (ECF), in 1990 and along with a strong entrepreneurial group, built the company into the nation's largest dental electronic claims clearinghouse. In 1995, Mr. Hughes sold ECF to MedeAmerica and today ECF is basically the Dental Division of Emdeon. While growing the business at ECF, Mr. Hughes saw a need for an electronic attachment clearinghouse and in 1997 started NEA. Many of the former employees of ECF now work with Mr. Hughes, and NEA remains today as the largest collection of brainpower and knowledge in the area of electronic attachments. Mr. Hughes further expanded his vision in 2007 and created Medical Electronic Attachment, Inc. to fill the void for attachment processing in the medical market space. Mr. Hughes is recognized as a thought leader in the attachment committee of HL7.
Mr. Hughes is an avid sailor and often speaks at healthcare events around the country. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Children Everywhere and is a sponsor of the Faith Works schools in Zambia, Africa. Mr. Hughes and his wife Barbara have three children and six grandchildren. Mr. Hughes graduated from Florida State University and has an MBA from Kennesaw State University.

Lisa Chapman

Vice President of National Sales

Lisa Chapman, an experienced healthcare professional, brings to MEA extensive payor experience and strategic thinking skills in the areas of managed care, healthcare cost containment and healthcare technology. Ms. Chapman most recently led national payor contracting initiatives for an Implantable Provider Group, an implantable medical device management company, working with commercial payors to fully manage all aspects of high-cost implantable medical devices. Prior to IPG, Ms. Chapman ran her own healthcare consulting company where she played a key role in establishing partnerships with Fortune 500 companies and national payors to design and implement managed care and cost containment programs. Ms. Chapman also led a division of Medquest Associates, a diagnostic imaging provider that operated 90 facilities in 14 states. Ms. Chapman led Occupational Solutions, which was ultimately sold to One Call Medical, a national diagnostic imaging broker. Ms. Chapman brings to MEA a strong medical and healthcare background as well as demonstrated abilities in national partnership and strategic alliance development, which brought substantial revenue and growth to several healthcare companies. Ms. Chapman earned degrees in Personnel Administration and Sociology from the University of Kansas. She is an avid golfer, community volunteer and enjoys cooking, music and travel.

Thomas William Hughes ("TJ")

Chief Technology Officer

TJ Hughes has over 18 years in the Healthcare Information Technology field; he has worked with NEA from its inception and previously was one of the founders of Electronic Claims & Funding Inc.. Mr. Hughes has extensive experience with EDI transactions and he is responsible for the design and development of the FastAttach software. Mr. Hughes currently oversees all information technology initiatives for MEA. The entire technology staff including programming, quality assurance, systems administration and customer support report to him. Mr. Hughes is also responsible for MEA's HIPAA compliance and serves as MEA's Chief Information Security Officer.
Mr. Hughes is an avid amateur radio operator and volunteers extensively within organizations supporting various Emergency Management Agencies.
Mr. Hughes and his wife Tracy have two children.

Cindy Jacoby, MBA, MEd

Vice President of Operations

Cindy Jacoby joined MEA in the spring of 2007 as operations manager, and has been recently appointed vice President of Operations. Her responsibilities include payor relations, contracts administrator, new customer implementation, hiring and general company operations. Mrs. Jacoby has been asked to participate in panel discussions about electronic attachments in EDI conferences such as NDEDIC.
Mrs. Jacoby received a Masters of Business Administration in 2006 from the Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University, where she is currently taking course work to become a Certified Managerial Coach. Mrs. Jacoby currently coaches one MBA student and one MBA team currently in the Coles College program. Mrs. Jacoby serves on the EMBARK Alumni Board and is a featured speaker to the new incoming Coles classes.
After graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, she earned a masters degree in education and served for 17 years as a teacher, guidance counselor and school administrator at an Atlanta independent school. She and her husband David enjoy playing golf and tennis and playing with their two children Molly and Jack.

J. Warren Hughes

Chairman of the Board

J. Warren Hughes graduated from Hillsborough High School, Tampa, Florida, in 1956 and served in the U. S. Army following graduation. He has resided in Clearwater, Florida, since 1959. Mr. Hughes owned Reed’s Florists at six locations in the west coast of Florida and sold out to Buning the Florist in l969. That year Mr. Hughes started Dynamic Investments, a real estate development company. Development included mobile home parks, travel trailer parks, subdivisions, apartment buildings, shopping plazas and a million dollar sewage treatment plant. He also owned an insurance agency, a lumber company, Largo Intracoastal Marina, and Nautical Sailboats (40 foot and 65 foot boats.)

Mr. Hughes also was a sports agent for baseball and is a past member of the Gator Booster Board for the University of Florida. He has been an active supporter of Clearwater for Youth, giving the annual J. W. Hughes Award for Outstanding Contribution to Youth Sports. In connection with Clearwater for Youth Mr. Hughes has received the Frederick E. Fisher Humanitarian Award for lifetime dedication and contribution toward development and growth of youth activities and has been named “Vice-President Emeritus” in recognition of lifetime support of our youth. He also owned Mill Creek Country Club, a residential and golf course community in Franklin, North Carolina. Mr. Hughes is a partner in Florida Community Property Management, an owner of Community Cable and is involved in a private telephone business.

He is Chairman of the Board at NEA (National Electronics Attachment, Inc.) and Chairman of MEA (Medical Electronics Attachment, Inc.). He and his wife, Nancy, have 5 children and 11 grandchildren. They reside in Clearwater, FL, and Franklin, NC.

Stephen P. Johnson

Mr. Johnson has had a 38-year career in the Financial Services Industry. He served as President of Compu-Credit, a collection and credit bureau, in Atlanta during the 70's. Mr. Johnson served as Senior Vice President of Investments with Robinson-Humphrey Co. from 1980 until his retirement in 2000. He provided Equity Research to large institutions in New York and Boston. Fidelity Management, the largest Mutual Fund in the world, was his main account.

From 2000 to 2005, Mr. Johnson was employed with Synovus Financial, a Columbus, GA based banking company. Mr. Johnson opened and staffed their first Wealth Management office in Atlanta. During his tenure he worked with the bank's high net worth clients. After a second retirement from Synovus in 2005, Mr. Johnson developed an Advisory Board business model to take advantage of his contacts and knowledge of the Atlanta business scene. He currently serves PMFM, a money management firm in Athens, Brightworth Wealth Counsel, a financial planning firm in Atlanta, and Above Board Advisors, in Atlanta. His non-profit roles include Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Right from the Heart Ministries and Half Time of Georgia.

John P. Connelly

Chairman, Baldwin Connelly Group

Mr. Connelly currently is Chairman of Baldwin Connelly Group, an insurance company, headquartered in Tampa, Florida. In 1985, Mr. Connelly established The Connelly Insurance Group. His agency was widely recognized as a leader in the commercial insurance agency marketplace for its growth and overall performance. The agency was consistently ranked among the highest performing insurance agencies in its category by Marsh Berry, a national consulting firm. The Connelly Insurance Group had 77 associates in Clearwater and Ocala when they sold their organization to Brown and Brown in 2001. Mr. Connelly continued to work for Brown and Brown in management and acquisitions until the end of 2003.

In addition to his commercial insurance expertise, Mr. Connelly also owns three other businesses: Dynamic Solutions Group, a computer consulting firm specializing in services to small business and a Microsoft Gold Vendor; Labor For Hire, a temporary staffing company for the light industrial sector; and Connelly Solutions, a human resources outsourcing firm.

Mr. Connelly is a University of South Florida graduate and he currently sits on the Athletic Department's Board of Directors. He is a graduate of Leadership Pinellas and is a former president of the Florida Gulf Coast Museum of Art and Belleair Country Club. Mr. Connelly has served 10 years on the Executive Board of the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce.

Thomas L. Meyers

Executive Director, Product Policy Department
America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP)

Mr. Meyers has worked in the Group Insurance Business since 1977. Currently, he is an Executive Director with America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) located in Washington DC. AHIP is a national trade association representing nearly 1300 member companies providing health benefits to more than 200 million Americans.

Mr. Meyers has a proven track record of successfully implementing business strategies focused on market expansion and bottom line growth. He provides insight and direction from a perspective developed through years of experiences as an executive in the Group Benefits business. Process alignment, Product Development, Product Management, Marketing, and Strategic and Tactical planning have been key areas of focus.

He has held a variety of executive and management level positions at Travelers Insurance Company, Hartford, Connecticut and Mutual of Omaha, Omaha, Nebraska.

Mr. Meyers has a degree in finance from Siena College located in Loudonville, NY.
